Los Angeles Real Estate Philanthropist Howard Rudzki has a passion for bike riding. He started out riding for the health benefits and the overall workout and for the pleasure and enjoyment that a good ride provides.
But for the last three years, he has decided to put his passion to use and turn all the miles he rides into a vehicle for good by participating in America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride. Along the way, he has helped raise thousands of dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The 100-mile America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride course circumnavigates the highways clockwise around Lake Tahoe, one of the most scenic locations in the world, on both the Nevada and California borders.
The course includes a challenging 800 foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay and a 1,000 foot climb to Spooner Junction. In between there are many short rolling ascents and descents totaling over 4,000 vertical feet of elevations. The altitude ranges between 6,300 and 7,100 feet about sea level and the event is recommended for seasoned bike enthusiasts.
“Americas Most Beautiful Bike Ride is one of the most awe-inspiring rides,” Rudzki says. “Not only is the scenery spectacular but you have a chance to ride with other avid cyclists while supporting a really great cause. It’s such an empowering feeling take one of your passions and using it to help improve the lives of others.”
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission is to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of lives for their patients and families.
